Brief description \u20183D-ContaminAid\u2019<\/h3>

The main objective of the sub-project of Leistungselektronik Jena GmbH (LEJ) is the development of a light source for the efficient decontamination of surfaces. Different types of illuminants are considered and evaluated in terms of efficacy, favoring the use of UV LEDs, as there is no risk of glass breakage and hazardous fumes with these illuminants. In addition, these illuminants are established and in use in various areas of disinfection. The wavelength ranges and intensities to be used, in which the highest decontamination efficiency is achieved, will be determined within the project together with the project partners. The aim here is to develop the most efficient light source possible, which will lead to rapid decontamination of the surface. Furthermore, efforts are being made to use a human-compatible light source with required protective equipment to reduce exposure of harmful radiation to humans and materials.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Brief description \u2018MuSik4Vine\u2019<\/h3>

The interdisciplinary MuSik4Vine project combines innovative methods and expertise from plant breeding research, micro-optics and lighting technology to develop a novel, cost-effective multi-modal sensor system for the non-destructive assessment of plant health and quality, using the grapevine as a case study. The project aims to establish a technological foundation and strategy for the on-site assessment of quality characteristics, thereby providing improved decision-making support in agriculture and plant breeding.<\/p>


This sub-project involves the selection and evaluation of LED light sources corresponding to the chosen spectral ranges for multispectral sensing and imaging. Opto-mechanical design of the light source as a subsystem, assembly of the relevant components (printed circuit boards, cooling components and illumination optics) and integration of these sources into a single light source for imaging. Development of customised driver electronics for controllable illumination. Integration of the sensor system in collaboration with IOF.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
