Who we are:

We are a small but excellent team, so it almost goes without saying that we all work hand in hand.

Where we do come from:

We were spun off from the Zeiss research department in 1991 by our founders Dieter Deinhardt and Wolfgang Ketscher, who were later our CEOs for about 25 years.

We now look back on more than 30 years of experience in photonics and have been able to establish ourselves as a reliable OEM partner for power supply electronics and lighting solutions for world-renowned companies.

What we do:

We plan develop and manufacture complex mechatronic and opto-electronic components and systems directly at our site. Our own brands LUXYR and AMPYR offer high-performance lighting and reliable power supplies for demanding applications in microscopy, the semiconductor industry, analytics, machine vision at quality control as well as in medical technology.

Management

Sabine Gottschaldt has been with the company since 2009 and has been our Commercial Managing Director since 2017. She is responsible for accounting, controlling, administration, human resources, production, purchasing and logistics at LEJ. Ms. Gottschaldt began her professional career with an apprenticeship as a bank clerk, followed by a degree in business administration at the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences in Jena, where she majored in human resources and accounting/controlling. She then worked for ten years at Lufthansa in Frankfurt am Main as a human resources officer, where she was responsible for the medium and long-term planning of personnel capacities. In addition to her professional career, she is the proud mother of two children and has a keen interest in culture and sport. Sabine Gottschaldt

Commercial Managing Director

Jörg Wagner holds a PhD in chemistry, has been with the company since 2020 and has been our Technical Managing Director since April 2021. He is responsible for strategy, product management, development, marketing and sales at LEJ and is also our QMO. After studying at Friedrich Schiller University Jena and Dalhousie University in Halifax (Canada), he completed his PhD at TU Ilmenau in 2007. He began his professional career in 2006 in sales at ZEISS Spectroscopy and held various management positions there and later at ZEISS Microscopy. Before joining our company, he held various positions at the medical technology manufacturer Alere (later Abbott) and in chemical process engineering at the Glatt Group between 2016 and 2020. He is the father of three children, a sports enthusiast and also promotes the topic of photonics in an honorary capacity in his role as Chairman of the Board of Optonet e.V. Technical Managing Director

Kristina Appeldorn has been with the company since 2021 and is responsible for LEJ's marketing and part of the sales team. She trained as a media designer for digital and print media with a focus on media design. She then gained a year of professional experience in an advertising agency. Her academic background includes a degree in business administration with a focus on retail, sales and international management. After her studies, she worked in human resources for two years before moving into marketing. She now has over 10 years of experience in this field. She is married and has two children.
